Find your seat

It’s game time. Where’s your seat?

Big, bold well-placed, well thought-out signs move crowds. Crowds of 50,805 to be exact. That’s how many seats are in TCF Bank stadium, the home of University of Minnesota Gopher football. We created a comprehensive sign system for the stadium, partnering with architecture firm Populous, who relied on our wayfinding and graphic design expertise. Our signs, combining  the iconic University of Minnesota maroon and gold branding with the classic block “M” for Minnesota, appear on exterior gate markers, building signs, and the interior concourse, a 360-degree colonnade that provides a year-round walkway around the stadium. We also designed the Goldy’s locker room graphics. And that’s one big locker room. In fact, it’s the largest home locker room in college or professional football.

Our graphic panels, displayed on the façade of the stadium’s upper deck, commemorate the 7 national championships and 18 Big Ten Conference championships won by Minnesota in football, and  honor the five players whose numbers have been retired. The stadium is functional and well-loved. Super Bowl winning coach and former quarterback for the Golden Gophers Tony Dungy called the TCF bank stadium “unbelievable.”

Did we mention stadium rock? The U2 360° Tour was the first concert performance in the stadium. So if you were cool enough to be at that concert, our signs helped you find your seat.

Our Client

TCF Bank Stadium is the first new on-campus stadium in the Big Ten program in nearly 50 years. Home to University of Minnesota Gopher Football, the outdoor horseshoe-style stadium seats over 50,000 fans. The stadium, also called “The Bank” or “The Gopher Hole,” was built to accommodate future expansion.
